Officially welcoming Graduate of Architecture, Travis Parry to S9!
Travis made the switch to architecture after a successful career as an electrician for 15 years. It was his interest in the design and construction industry which ultimately drew him to the profession.
Since completing his Masters of Architecture at the University of South Australia in 2013, Travis has played a key role in projects across the state’s education, multi-residential, commercial, retail and sporting sectors.
Passionate about the role architecture plays within a social context, Travis enjoys deigning buildings that engage the public. “There’s an added sense of responsibility when it comes to designing civic buildings – you have the opportunity to use architecture to evoke certain emotions in people, which can ultimately impact how they experience places and their lives”.
As someone who finds tranquillity in being surrounded by nature, Travis is drawn to regional projects. He notes the Port Vincent Serviced Apartments and the Kings Canyon refurbishments as project highlights since working at S9. “I love working on projects where I have the opportunity to enhance the inhabitant’s experience with their natural surroundings”.
He enjoys working in partnership with project stakeholders to solve challenges that lead to positive and considered project outcomes for the client and end user. “You’re surrounded by a team who have the same end goal – naturally you forge relationships with these people and having this support is invaluable”.
“There are some really exciting things happening at S9. Being a part of an evolving studio who work across small to large scale projects in various sectors, means there’s so much opportunity for growth as an Architect”.
A great fit for our growing team, welcome to S9 Travis.
