We are excited to welcome Architect Kai Xue as one of our newest additions to S9.
He brings with him a breadth of experience primarily within the health and multi-residential sectors.
Kai fell into architecture after his drawing skills stood out to his high school teacher back in South Africa, opening his mind to the possibility of delving into the industry. “It was at that moment that I realised, I love drawing, I love design, and I’m pretty good at it too”. The rest is history.
Over his career, Kai has worked on some of SA’s major healthcare projects, along with a strong portfolio of multi-residential projects.
“What I find interesting about the healthcare sector is that it offers another form of architectural problem solving’, he says. ‘Having to overcome staging, fire safety and compliance upgrade issues in a hospital that is still fully operating day to day, has been a challenging, yet invaluable learning experience”.
Kai’s step into Studio Nine was a natural progression in his career. “What drew me to Studio Nine is the immense opportunities available and being able to work on a variety of projects across different scales. I’m excited to be part of such an emerging studio, working within new sectors and seeing where it takes me”.
Welcome to S9 Kai, already making your mark as an asset to our team.
